Packard Center Supports Collaborative C9orf72 FTD/ALS Summit

The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research proudly supported the 2nd Bi-annual C9orf72 FTD/ALS Summit, a landmark gathering that brought together leading clinicians, researchers, and families affected by the C9orf72 mutation. This collaborative event, held in April in Phoenix, Arizona, focused on advancing our understanding of C9-related disease biology, accelerating biomarker development, and enhancing therapeutic strategies and clinical trial designs.
The summit, organized by Dr. Rita Sattler of the Barrow Neurological Institute and Packard Center Scientific Advisory Board member, featured presentations from several distinguished members of the Packard Center Scientific Advisory Board. Scientific Director Dr. Christine Vande Velde also delivered key insights during the event.
This key scientific meeting marked a crucial step in the collaborative effort to combat C9orf72-related ALS and frontotemporal dementia, underscoring the Packard Center’s continued commitment to advancing research partnerships and accelerating progress toward effective treatments.
