Packard Center Concludes 25th Anniversary Celebration with Event Honoring Namesake

The Packard Center marked a quarter-century of pioneering ALS research with an anniversary celebration at the Presidio Golf Club in San Francisco. The gathering brought together members of the Packard family, researchers, donors, and the Center’s Board of Governors to honor both the organization’s legacy and its namesake, Robert Packard.
The evening featured reflections from Dr. Jeffrey Rothstein, who founded the Packard Center, and Bobbi Gates, widow of Robert Packard. Board member Jayme Frieder served as hostess, while Dr. Claire Clelland, a University of California San Francisco researcher and Packard Center grant recipient, shared insights into the Center’s meaningful contributions to ALS research.
Held alongside the Board of Governors’ fall meeting, the event, which raised $275,000 for research, provided an occasion to celebrate the Center’s 25 years of impact while strengthening connections with the community of supporters who make its vital work possible.
