Coast 2 Coast 4 ALS: A Ride with Purpose

Every mile tells a story in the Coast 2 Coast 4 ALS (C2C4ALS) journey, a cross-country cycling adventure dedicated to raising awareness and critical funding for ALS research and patient care.
Rex Houlihan, the event organizer, is riding in honor of Laura Harvey Olds, Rex’s dear friend and neighbor who was diagnosed with ALS in 2023. The campaign supports two organizations making a meaningful impact in the fight against ALS: The Packard Center, advancing groundbreaking research toward a cure, and the Team Gleason Foundation, which provides vital care and resources for people living with ALS.
The journey began on May 1 in La Push, Washington, and will conclude on August 14 at The Starboard in Dewey Beach, Delaware, spanning the country and inspiring communities along the way.
The Packard Center has proudly supported the ride throughout its journey. Members of the Board of Governors and staff gathered at The Old Angler’s Inn in Potomac, Maryland, for the Send-Off Celebration on April 26, and reunited with supporters at the Champions for A Cure event in Chicago on June 26, celebrating the ride’s halfway milestone and the growing momentum behind the mission to end ALS.
